Magnetic method Boards – One More Way to Use Vinyl Lettering For Your Craft Projects

You may ask “what can you use vinyl lettering for?” Well, possibly a more accepted response would be “what can’t you use it for?” Vinyl lettering has so many practical uses. From craft ideas such as ornamental signs, tiles, and plaques to other uses such as decorating a baby’s room, or etching your name into your pyrex baking dishes. Vinyl lettering has a lot of distinct uses.

Another great way to use vinyl lettering to add a touch of style to your home is by using convention vinyl lettering to make a magnetic method board. I came up with the idea for a magnetic method board out of my love for cooking, and the anguish that followed when my recipes would get all “messy” from sitting on the counter. I view to myself while cooking some of my homemade Bbq Sauce “Wouldn’t it be nice to have some way of keeping my recipes up off of the counter.” And then the idea struck….what about taking a picture frame, painting it to match our kitchen, and then placing some sheet metal (found at most craft stores) in the middle. I did exactly that, and have loved this magnetic method board so much, that I’ve made them for some of my friends and family.

You can customize the board to meet you needs. Either you use full page recipes, as I do, or 4×6 cards, you can make a magnetic method board to fit your personal preference. What’s more, is that you can customize it even further by applying some convention vinyl lettering to the frame of the board. These boards not only make good method boards, but bulletin, picture, and message boards as well.

No matter what the use, vinyl lettering has so many unique applications for home deocor and crafts that it would be impossible to touch on them all in this article. But, from my experience, the possibilities are as limitless as your own imagination.
